The Iranian calendar also known as Persian calendar or the Jalaali Calendar is a solar calendar currently used in Iran and Afghanistan. It is observation-based, rather than rule-based, beginning each year on the vernal equinox as precisely determined by astronomical observations from Tehran.The Persian year starts at vernal equinox within a day of 21 March of the Gregorian calendar. To find the corresponding year of the Gregorian calendar, add 621 or 622 (depending on the time of the year) to a Solar Hijri year. Verb Endings
Verb conjugation in Persian is simple. In order to conjugate the verbs , you need to know the personal endings and the verb endings that go with each personal ending. The verb endings give information about the person, number and tense. Even if you do not know what the verb means, by looking at the ending , you will be able to tell the person for that verb. For example, the verb ending م “m” at the end of verb دارم “ daram” I have shows that the subject is من “man” I. With personal pronouns all the personal endings are the same for the present and past tense, except for the 3rd person singular, which in the past tense does not take any ending. In order to make the verbs negative, prefix ﻧِ “ ne” Not is added at the beginning of the verb. For example the negative forms of the present tense of verb “to have” are as follows:
